Kentucky Science Center invites you to join us on Thursday, September 7 at 10am for a Homeschool VolunTeen Open House. Open to teens ages 13 - 18, the Science Center's homeschool program operates during the school year to engage and inspire teens from across our region.

VolunTeens assist in the exhibit halls, preform scientific demonstrations, serve as lab assistants in classes, workshops, and camps, and help out with birthday parties, science celebrations and other special events.

VolunTeens gain valuable experience working with people from all walks of life and build important teamwork, communication, presentation, and leadership skills. It's a great way to build your resume for scholarships, college applications, and future employment.

As a homeschool student, you may choose a shift during the week either working a morning or an afternoon shift. The morning shift works with school groups during their field trips and the afternoon shift works directly with families as they visit the exhibit halls. Shifts are typically 4 hours (9am to 1pm or noon to 4pm). Homeschool VolunTeens are ask to complete at least two shifts per month (October - May).
