ORGANIZATION: Project Miracle

  • 9 people are interested

The Miracle Project incorporates a groundbreaking and evidence-based methodology that integrates theatre, film, and the expressive arts to bring out the best in individuals with autism and all abilities. Through shared experiences with non-disabled peers, individuals with autism and other disabilities find their voice, develop their talents and become part of a unique, dynamic, inclusive community.

The Miracle Project holds a program on Thursdays from 6:00pm-7:45pm at The Wallis Annenberg Center for Performing Arts in Beverly Hills from October 3rd, 2017 - December 12th, 2017.

Volunteers pair up with young adults with autism and other disabilities to create content that will be used in the creation of an original musical. Join singers, dancers, and actors with and without disabilities to create an original musical based on real life experiences and dreams.

Training is provided.

Mission Statement

The mission of The Miracle Project is to create a community where the authentic voices, passions, and stories of neurodivergent individuals with and without disabilities are celebrated, elevated, supported, and belong.

Description

The Miracle Project is always looking for volunteers - or, as we call them, "co-actors." Co-actors are peer role models - participating alongside those with autism and other disabilities serving as a friend, classmate, and creative partner.

The Miracle Project is a fully inclusive theater, film, and expressive arts program focused on building communication, self-esteem, and life skills for neurodivergent and disabled individuals. Through shared experiences with peers and volunteers, individuals with diverse backgrounds, communication styles, and abilities find their voice, develop their talents, and rehearse for life.

We welcome co-actors of all ages, backgrounds, and encourage siblings and similarly-aged relatives of program participants to volunteer as well.
