ORGANIZATION: Catholic Charities East Bay

Area/Program Focus:​ ​ Development of a management and leadership training program.

Position Summary: ​ The current strategic plan includes the goal of being an Employer and
Volunteer Place of Choice​ and Objective of "create and implement an annual professional
leadership development and training program​." This volunteer or group of volunteers will help to
create a management and leadership program for staff. We envision a twelve month program with a
different management topic each month for the first six months and then a different leadership
topic for each month during the second six months. We also envision a cohort model of between
6-10 staff for each cohort training. We would like to utilize local community leaders that are expert
in the management and leadership areas to be guest presenters and also use different training
modalities such as speakers, video, group work, webinars, etc.

Reports to:​ ​ This volunteer will work with the CEO and Chief Administrative Officer.

Supervisory Responsibility​: May not be applicable to all positions (please delete if not needed)

Responsibilities:

Essential Responsibilities:
● Develop the training module for each month and each topic. Each module should be
specific and include topic, background, purpose and relevance in the business
environment, training modalities to be used, and outcomes to be achieved. Each
module should also include a summary "Tip Sheet" of key objectives learned and
"Key Actions" to practice and use with each module beginning with a summary of
the previous month’s topics learned and how the cohort members utilized the key
learnings. Each module will build on the previous module.

Success Metrics:
● The manager is able to utilize skills learned in his/her position and has achieved
positive feedback from peers, direct reports, and management.

Qualifications/Requirements:
● Experience in a senior management or executive level position; experience with teaching
and/or training in academic setting.

Core Competencies:
● The volunteer must have several years of experience in a management and leadership role,
understand the difference between the two and be able to develop a training curriculum that
is relevant to a faith based organization and relevant to modern management and leadership
principles and current thinking and best practices.

Accountability:
● The volunteer or group of volunteers will be accountable to the CEO and Chief
Administrative Officer for progress and deliverables on the training program.
