ORGANIZATION: San Jose Public Library - Berryessa Branch Library

Are you interested in helping your community? In providing a safe and studious environment for children in grades K-8? Then being a Homework Club Coordinator is the opportunity for you!

Our Coordinator will effectively lead and coordinate the Homework Club which takes place every Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:30-5:30pm. Assist students with their homework questions, lead a team of high school volunteers, and give school age students the help they need to create effective study habits.

This is a perfect opportunity for anyone interested in leading their own program and supporting education.

Qualifications

  • Age 18 or older (21 or older preferred)
  • Fingerprint clearance required for volunteers 18 or over
  • Some experience with tutoring and/or youth
  • Ability to develop and work with a team
  • The ability to think on your feet and have some fun!

Libraries offer a variety of skilled volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to library programs, operations, fundraising events and other community engagement functions. Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.
