Creatives on Release (COR) Foundation is currently seeking motivated Volunteer Board Member with fundraising/nonprofit expertise to join our board. We are a start-up multi-media nonprofit and we are looking for enthusiastic, passionate, and dedicated members who want to help us build something inspirational! Help us get to the next level and make a positive impact.
As a Board member, you will be responsible for the below.
- Ensure the continued success of this organization and mission
- Structure the organization to operate efficiently, effectively and legally
- Ensure legal and ethical integrity, maintain accountability, and adhere to the highest standards of disclosure and resolution of potential or real conflicts of interest
- Enhance the organization’s public standing and raise public awareness
- To act reasonably, prudently and in the best interests of the Foundation, avoid negligence and fraud, and to avoid conflicts of interest
- To attend and participate in regular and special Board meetings and in sponsored events
- To participate in the board planning and goal setting process
- To reach an annual fundraising/contribution goal of a minimum $1,000/year
- Determine, monitor and strengthen the organization’s programs and services
- Selecting, orienting and training new board members
This position is for a minimum term of three years, with the option to stand for re-election for a total term of six years. We expect this position to demand at least 2-20 hours per month. This includes:
- Quarterly board meetings of 1-2 hours (LA area or via teleconference)
- Additional special meetings or events as needed throughout the year
