Join us for Homeschool Day at the Oregon Garden. This is a great educational event for homeschool students and their parents.
Students visit different educational stations throughout the garden to participate in activities and learn new things. Educational stations may include, but are not limited to: aquatic station, birds, insects, animal tracks, germination, and plant adaptations.
Volunteers are needed to assist education staff with the activities. You will be interacting with students and their parents so you've got to like kids! You don't need to be a teacher and are not expected to have prior knowledge of the subjects.
Lunch is included in this volunteer opportunity.

To welcome and inspire all visitors with an appreciation for the extraordinary ecology of the Pacific Northwest, and to provide a meaningful educational experience for gardeners of all skill levels and ages.
Description
The Oregon Garden is an 80-acre botanical garden with more than 20 specialty gardens showcasing the wide variety of plants suitable to the climate of the Pacific Northwest. Highlights include the Conifer Garden, Silverton Market Garden and Sensory Garden. We are pet-friendly and offer a seasonal narrated tram tour. Throughout the year, the Garden serves as a venue for both public and private events including weddings, outdoor movies, craft markets and more. Volunteers are critical to our mission and assist our staff in areas including horticulture, guest services, maintenance and more.
