The City Horse program will be hosting a day at the races on Easter Sunday, April 1st from 10am to 4:45pm at Golden Gate Fields racetrack in Berkeley.
City Horse is looking for 15 volunteers to work concession stands serving beer, hotdogs and mimosas. Volunteers can donate their time for all or part of the day (morning shift 10am to 2pm and/or afternoon shift pm to 1:00pm to 4:45pm).
If you have not been out to Golden Gate Fields racetrack, then you are in for a treat.
Proceeds raised benefit students of the City Horse program. City Horse connects underrepresented students of color from around the Bay Area to local stables for horsemanship and riding lessons.

Description
CITY HORSE CONNECTS STUDENTS THROUGHOUT THE BAY AREA WITH LOCAL HORSE STABLES IN THEIR AREA. STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN THE CITY HORSE PROGRAM AS AN ELECTIVE COURSE THROUGH THEIR SCHOOL AND RECEIVE ACADEMIC CREDIT FOR LEARNING HORSEMANSHIP, GROOMING, NUTRITION AND BARN MANAGEMENT.
CITY HORSE ALSO PROVIDES OUT-OF-SCHOOL AND AFTER-SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH INTERESTED IN LEARNING MORE ABOUT CAREERS AND LOCAL PROFESSIONALS WORKING IN AGRICULTURE, VETERINARY MEDICINE AND HORSEMANSHIP.
