Mission Statement

Dedicated to enhancing communities by creating opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities through innovative and person-centered supports.

Description

FRIENDS of Broomfield is a grass roots community based charitable organization providing person centered services and supports to adults with developmental disabilities. Since 1998, FRIENDS has been an integral part of the community; establishing Special Olympics and therapeutic recreation services, as well as providing day, residential and supported employment support. Our mission is to create opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities through an innovative and person centered approach. Our vision is to ensure they have a voice in the community, and access to person centered supports that promote independence and choice. We want to serve as a support and informational network, and work cooperatively to ensure lifelong supports for their loved ones. In our community, we will promote acceptance and understanding through education, and enhance our community through opportunities for inclusive living. Our goal is to ensure that adults with developmental disabilities have the opportunity to enjoy integrated, meaningful, productive lives and that they are truly seen as valued and productive members of their communities.
