The Arc

The Arc of the Capital Area is in need of volunteers to assist clients with developmental disabilities in our art studio. This is a great opportunity for seniors and those who have free time during the work week and are looking for a fun and worthwhile cause with which to participate. NO ARTISTIC SKILLS REQUIRED.

Volunteers in the art studio assist clients by encouraging them for their art projects, helping them stay on track and engaged, gathering supplies, socializing, and in some cases even physically guide the hand of some of our less ambulatory or vision impaired clients.

The art studio is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 2pm.
Our Monday classes are focused on digital media arts, Tuesdays focus on performing arts, while our Wednesday through Friday classes are focused on more classic visual arts, such as painting and drawing.

We ask that volunteers commit to at least 1 shift per week for a 3 month period. Shifts at 9-11:30am, 12-2pm, or 9-2pm.

Feel free to contact Leah Marsden, Volunteer Coordinator, at lmarsden@arcaustin.org with any questions.

Visit www.arcaustin.org/volunteer-app-page/ to apply.
