Job Description:
The Mass Alliance of HUD Tenants (MAHT) seeks a dynamic, self-starter to assist in data management for both MAHT and NAHT.
Responsibilities:
Manage tenant union membership databases
Create and maintain fundraising and volunteer databases
Build and strengthen tenant unions by connecting with likeminded organizations
around the country and collecting data
Qualifications:
Enthusiasm about MAHT’s mission, passionate about tenants’ rights, and committed to social change
Knowledge or willingness to learn Nation Builder
Excellent computer skills with experience with Microsoft Office
Confidence and experience communicating with people from a variety of back-
grounds, including race and class
Self-motivated, detail-oriented with strong written, verbal, & organizational skills
The ability to work independently and with others
Dependability, flexibility, and ability to maintain confidentiality
Openness to learning and growing within the internship experience
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

The Mass Alliance of HUD Tenants (MAHT) organizes, trains and provides technical assistance to more than 40 HUD tenant groups, currently representing over 8,000 predominantly low income families in Eastern and Central Massachusetts who live in privately-owned, HUD-subsidized multifamily housing. MAHT’s mission is to preserve and improve at-risk HUD buildings as permanently affordable housing with a maximum of resident participation, ownership and control.

Founded in 1983 as the nation’s first and most accomplished area wide HUD tenant coalition, MAHT is the only resident-run, membership coalition providing organizing and technical assistance to HUD tenants in Eastern and Central Massachusetts.
