Assemble a Cabinet @ Brownsville Brooklyn Public Library
ORGANIZATION: ProjectArt
Please visit the new page to apply.
ProjectArt is in desperate need of anyone who is available over the next three weeks (now- September 1st) to assemble one cabinet in each of ProjectArt's 10 libraries! These cabinets will house each program's art supplies and will be a small but essential aspect of the free art classes we offer to youth. The cabinets are super simple to put together and just require a screw driver and about two pairs of hands. Here is a video for what assembly would look like: youtube.com/watch?v=y_WVyaFuvGw. I would say about two volunteers per library is all we would need to put cabinets together! In general if anyone is available during weekdays or Saturdays between 10am and 6:30pm, we could really use some help. Some libraries are open till 8pm depending on the day. Please let me know if any of you are available this month!

Mission Statement
ProjectArt's mission is to unleash the power of creativity in every child and change the way the world values arts education.
Description
Using arts education as the primary vehicle to facilitate creative place-making, ProjectArt transforms public libraries into vital cultural hubs that highlight local assets, spur rejuvenation and serve common needs of minority, immigrant and outer-borough communities. By holding free year-round visual art classes for youth with curriculums that are reflective of their traditions and community and by celebrating their work through exhibitions, we create a ripple effect of cultural engagement and community-building.
