Over the past several years, the Washington County Attorney’s Office (and Woodbury Police Department) have prioritized and focused efforts on combatting sex trafficking within the county. This has also involved an effort to reduce the demand for prostitution within the county by prosecuting individuals seeking out prostitutes. According to the Advocates for Human Rights, 8,000 to 12,000 people are estimated to be involved in prostitution/sex trafficking in Minnesota every day.
In this presentation, the presenters will provide an overview of their work and what they see to educate and identify ways the community can be engaged and take action to combat prostitution and sex trafficking in our community. This event is free and open to the public, but requires registration.
This training is facilitated by Washington County Community Circles, a nonprofit practicing restorative justice through the Circle process in Washington County for almost 20 years.
