ORGANIZATION: SINGLE SEED ENRICHMENT SCHOOL

  • 12 people are interested

You will be supporting K-12 students in small group tutoring sessions.

Experience

Our tutors range from seasoned educators to involved parents. Even if a tutor has never worked specifically with children, we encourage those who are willing to support students to work with us as volunteer tutoring aides.

Attitude

Our tutors want to see every child succeed and recognize that all children can learn. Approaches to instruction and tutoring are determined by our students’ needs, and we want every tutor to understand that the Single Seed attitude is one of openness and innovation. There are many ways to learn and teach. We want our tutors to embrace that truth.

Education

Our tutors have a range of educational backgrounds. While we do not require tutors to have postsecondary experiences (college or beyond), we welcome those with undergraduate or graduate work. Normally, volunteers who are currently enrolled in high school serve as tutoring aides and have additional support to develop their tutoring skills.

Commitment

Our tutors demonstrate a solid commitment to the students and families we serve by being punctual and dependable. They are transparent regarding their ability to attend each tutoring session. Single Seed tutors also show their commitment to excellence in how they interact respectfully with children and families. As advocates for our students, our tutors agree to protect the rights and privileges of students.

Background Check

Our tutors complete a criminal background check prior to serving as a volunteer.
