Childcare Volunteer Job Description

Volunteer Reports to: Family Education Partners Department

Summary: The Childcare Volunteer will provide childcare assistance while family parenting classes are taking place.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide youth ages infant to teen with support and engaging activities.
• Keep the playroom and childcare areas clean and organized.
• Assist with crafts, games or free-play.
• Act as a positive role model.
• Provide positive reinforcement and promote healthy, non-violent behaviors.
• Communicate with other full time staff and volunteers regarding on-going
• Facility, program, and client needs.
• Follow all agency policies and procedures.
• Complete other tasks as assigned.
• Maintain values of dignity, empowerment, and respect with all clients, staff, and volunteers of the agency and program.

Requirements

• Friendly, positive, professional demeanor
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Ability to learn information about Any Baby Can
• Ability to work with people of many different backgrounds and abilities
• Pass a background check
• Maintain confidentiality
• Ability to work cooperatively with staff and volunteers
• Bilingual in Spanish and English (optional, but highly desirable)
• Basic knowledge of sexual and domestic violence is helpful.
