Comfort Zone Camp Volunteer Training: Saturday September 9 th
Each program needs up to 65 volunteers; Comfort Zone Camp is offering a volunteer training session in Raleigh, NC on Saturday, September 9 th 9:00am - 3:00pm at LifePointe Church (9500 Durant Road
Raleigh NC 27614. Comfort Zone’s volunteer training provides education regarding childhood grief, and prepares volunteers to take part in our camp programs.
Comfort Zone Camp - A Safe & Fun Place for Grieving Children to Heal & Grow
Make a difference in the life of a grieving child - become a mentor or group facilitator! Comfort Zone Camp is a nonprofit organization that provides free-of-charge therapeutic grief programs for young people ages 7-25 who have experienced the death of a parent, guardian, or sibling (here is a video of our programs). The programs include confidence-building activities that break the emotional isolation grief often brings. Ultimately, Comfort Zone Camp provides a safe and fun place for grieving youth to heal and grow.
There are many volunteer opportunities within Comfort Zone Camp:
* Big Buddy Mentor (matched 1:1 with a camper)
* Nurse
* Support Group Facilitator
* Photographer
* General Camp Volunteer (logistical support staff)
We are excited to offer a 3-Day Camp in Raleigh, NC on October 6-8th, and we need volunteers (especially males)! The first step in becoming a volunteer is to attend a volunteer training. Comfort Zone’s volunteer training provides education regarding childhood grief, and prepares volunteers to take part in our camp programs. All volunteers are required to complete our 6-hour training before attending camp - the next training is in Raleigh, NC on Saturday, Sept. 9 th 9:00am - 3:00pm at Lifepointe Church (9500 Durant Road Raleigh NC 27614). Description
Comfort Zone Camp is the nation's largest bereavement camp. Comfort Zone Camps are offered free of charge to children ages 7-17 who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or primary caregiver. The weekend camps are held year-round in Virginia, New Jersey, California, North Carolina and Massachusetts as well as partnership camps in several other states.
Comfort Zone Camps create an environment where grieving children can have fun and break the isolation death often brings, while learning valuable coping skills for their daily lives. All camp programs are free of charge.
