Cooking Class - Welcoming Week Teachers
ORGANIZATION: YMCA of Central and Northern Westchester
Please visit the new page to apply.
The White Plains Community YMCA is looking for volunteer chiefs who can run cooking workshops at our facility for Welcoming Week. Welcoming Week (see: https://www.welcomingamerica.org/programs/welcoming-week) is a celebration of the immigrants and cultures that make up our local community. The White Plains Family YMCA will be celebrating Welcoming Week through a variety of workshops and service opportunities. We are hoping that through the culinary arts, we will be able to introduce our families to the variety of cultures that make up our community.
This workshop will be conducted in our lobby and will require to be something that can either be prepared cold or using microwaves or hotplates. We would prefer any meals be simple, appropriate for families to prepare and healthy. For example, we currently have volunteers offering workshops in Poke bowls, Gazpacho and Penne with vodka sauce. We are looking to have at least one workshop per night, Monday through Friday between 7:00PM to 9:00PM.
