ORGANIZATION: Soldiers' Angels - West Palm Beach

A patient visitor is a regular volunteer who conducts patient visits at the VA Medical Center delivering care and comfort items to veterans. A Patient Visit Volunteer may also help veterans with tasks such as reading their mail or writing a letter for them. The volunteer may also have the opportunity to sit with patients, to keep them company or listen to a story.

Duties include: Visit patients on a regular basis; distribute donated items to patients and family members, work through VAVS Office to coordinate visits and distributions,maintain confidentiality, adhere to VA rules, abide by and support the philosophy, policies and guidelines of Soldiers' Angels. Participate in training as needed and required, keep careful record of hours served and items distributed.

Must be willing to submit VA volunteer application and screening as well as attend VA orientation and training.
