Tech Docent
Help library patrons with basic computer questions.

Do you have a solid working knowledge of computer software applications like MS Word and using the internet? Would you enjoy assisting library patrons when they need help submitting an online job application, creating an email account or downloading music or an eBook into their phone?

If you answered yes, please consider becoming a technology assistant in our computer lab.

We're seeking patient, friendly people who can explain how to use the computer and software applications to a diverse group of library patrons.

We're seeking volunteers for Tuesday, Friday and Saturday afternoons. The Carmichael Library is one of only two libraries opened on Sundays so the computer lab is especially busy Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 5:00 as a result, we have an increased need for volunteers on Sunday afternoons.

You are available at least 2 hours a week for 3 to 6 months (schedule to be determined). Teens - this is a great way to fulfill community service requirements. You'll receive training on library systems and databases.

Adults (over the age of 18) are required to complete a Live Scan background check.
