ORGANIZATION: Violence Free Futures

  • 12 people are interested

The fall brings many special events and holidays. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and we have many special events planned and the Community Relations Coordinator would benefit from some support with phone calls, photocopying, organizing and attending events if possible. It will include working in the office and going to the special events if available.

About Violence Free Futures

Location:

380 Bellbrook Ave., P.O. Box 271, Xenia, OH 45385, US

Mission Statement

We work to end family, domestic and sexual violence and its impact in Greene County through prevention, intervention, collaborative community programs, and safe housing.

Description

Violence Free Futures (VFF) is dedicated to serving victims of domestic violence. Our programs can be broken into four key areas: Residential, Outreach, Intervention and Prevention.

Residential - Our residential program provides immediate safety and support to those fleeing violent situations. Clients are offered case management, individual and group counseling for children and adults, and education/training. While staying in the shelter, clients have the opportunity to learn, grow, and build themselves up to the person they want to be.

Prevention - Our Prevention Education Program received a "top ranking" nationally by the Federal Office of Education and the Office of Family Violence Prevention. This program provides a series of three sessions on violence prevention and education, free of charge, to the seven school districts in Greene County.

Intervention - VFF provides intervention services including: DIVERT (Domestic Intervention for Violence Emergency Response Team), emergency hospital response, Batterer's Intervention and our 24 hour crisis hotline.

Outreach - Our outreach services help to meet the needs of clients who are not currently part of our residential program. Individual and group counseling sessions are available to community residents.
