Opportunities with Civil Air Patrol (CAP) include:
Cadet Membership (12 to 17 years old) - Cadet members participate in Leadership, Aerospace, Character Developement and Physical Fitness programs. They will also have the opportunity to participate in our Emergency Services programs as well.
Adult Membership (18 and older) - Adults have the opportunity to participate in the following areas:
The volunteer for this position must be accepted for Active Membership by the unit and higher headquarters. Membership is a privilege reserved for those individuals who conscientiously desire to promote the objectives and purposes of CAP and who meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Must be at least 12 years of age or older
- Be a U.S. Citizen or an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence.
- Honorable discharge if prior military service (18 or older).
- Complete an FBI Criminal Background Check (18 or older).
- Enrolled in school or homeschooled (12 to 17 years old).

Description
Civil Air Patrol is congressionally chartered and operates as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation. CAP performs services for the federal government as the official civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force and state/local communities as a non-profit organization. CAP is made up of 8 geographical regions consisting of 52 wings. It is a strategic partner of the Air Force, serving as a member of its Total Force. CAP has three primary missions-Emergency Services, Cadet Programs and Aerospace Education.
More than one million cadets have benefited from Cadet Programs' leadership, character development, fitness and Aerospace/STEM education corriculum.
