Access to and lack of vital yet basic nutrition is an ongoing issue in our community. Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest seeks a volunteer to ensure the safe delivery of food from Midwest Foodbank to LSS-SW Food Pantry located at First Evangelical in Mesa. The Food Pantry Delivery Volunteer will play an important role of ensuring vulnerable individuals and families have access to basic nutrition.
Responsibilities and key deliverables- Using personal vehicle, drive safely to and from locations
- Loading and unloading food
- Assisting with stocking food pantry shelves at First Evengelical
The volunteer will use their personal vehicle to pick up food from Midwest Foodbank and transport it to First Evangelical Food pantry. The volunteer will spend most of their volunteer shift in their vehicle. The volunteer will not be reimbursed for gas or mileage.
The volunteer’s first destination will be Midwest Foodbank located at 725 E. Baseline Rd, Gilbert, AZ 85233. The volunteer will drop the food off at First Evangelical located at 142 N. Date, Mesa AZ 85201. Volunteers will pick up food twice a month on a Tuesday.
