Rx HealthCare Services Hospice

  • 23 people are interested

Hospice provides support and care for those in the last phases of a life-limiting illness. Hospice recognizes death as part of the normal process of living. It affirms life and neither hastens nor postpones death while offering support and comfort for the patient and loved ones.

As a hospice volunteer you will have the opportunity to make a positive difference during this most difficult time for patients and their family members. Patients need help with errands, light chores, and giving the caretaker a much needed break. Volunteers are also needed in the office to assist with filing, phone calls, etc. The position also asks that volunteers phone bereaved families, send cards, letters, and grief information after their loved one has passed.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to be eligible to work directly with patients and their families. Following an application process and background check, training will be provided, including issuance of PPE and training to ensure that all volunteers are in compliance with CDC social distancing guidelines to minimize the impact of COVID-19.
