Our Veteran Support Program Angels serve our veterans with "boots on the ground" support. We conduct patient visits where we distribute items from our Sewing and Crafting Team, Mary Kay, Girl Scouts and many other great items our donors send us. We also host events such as luncheons or dinners, bingo or movie nights and more. We cannot do this without our wonderful volunteers. If all of this sounds interesting to you, and you would like to move ahead with the application process, let me know! I look forward to hearing from you!
In addition, the Patient Visit Volunteer should be:
- Enthusiastic about working with veterans
- Comfortable in a hospital setting (where some veterans are very sick or disabled)
- Organized, flexible, and willing to help as needed
- Dependable
- Personable and have good communication skills (including good listening skills)
- Empathic, kind, and having a positive attitude.
