Mentoring athletes while teaching basketball skills and drills that will stick with these kids for the rest of their lives. Setting an example as a role model while teaching kid's lessons about life through sports. Many children never have the opportuniity to play in a team setting because of the lack of finances, health challenges, or fear. This is where you will have an opportunity to help a child soar to their life goals and guide them through the process.
Previous coaching history strongly suggested but not required. Background check is mandatory as well as coaching certification through AAU sports.

The philosophy that the PG Mavericks AAU basketball program is instilling in their athletes begins with commitment, dedication and fun. The coaching staff is committed to providing fundamental skills through developed instruction and to teach the elements of BASKETBALL. Our athletes have the desire to compete at a high level of AAU basketball competition.
Description
Our coaching staff and program are committed to providing ALL athletes the opportunity to expand their set skills, their knowledge, and emphasizing the FUN in competitive sports. We provide an environment of positive reinforcement that teaches about respect, dedication, discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, commitment, and hard work. The PG Mavericks program also stresses the need for STRONG academics to achieve the true standing of a successful student-athlete.
We are ALWAYS striving for excellence both on and off the court. We are academically successful and structurally balanced.
