We are pairing our festival with "La Loteria" theme, an iconic, colorful and timeless card game that is traditionally and broadly recognized in all of Mexico and most of Central America. "La LoterĂa" is the Spanish word for lottery. The game, which is often compared to Bingo, consists of a deck of 54 decorative cards with different images and random "tablas" (boards). To start the game, the assigned caller randomly selects a card from the deck and announces it to the players typically using a humorous riddle instead of calling the card name; such custom will be incorporated in the event along with raffle prizes, food and children activities.
