Volunteers assist the Horse Show manager as needed with a variety of duties including helping
in the paddock, handing out ribbons, helping with the gate during the events, running score
sheets to and from the judges, and various horse show office duties.
Requirements:
* Must have general knowledge of horses and ability to stay safe around them
* Ability to stand for extended periods and/or walk in the deep arena dirt
* Some lifting of props may be necessary
* Friendly, helpful, courteous, polite and hospitable
* Dress code requires comfortable, closed toed (i.e. no sandals); long shorts or pants,
modest top, blouse, or short sleeved, plain t-shirt in this area.

Oklahoma State Fair, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation that serves the people of Oklahoma and is dedicated to continuing the organization's heritage of education, entertainment and economic development through the operation of State Fair Park and the annual Oklahoma State Fair.

Description

The Oklahoma State Fair is Oklahoma's premier family event. For over 100 years, the Fair has been Oklahoma's top education, entertainment and competition event with thousands of visitors attending each day.

The Oklahoma State Fair is rich in history and heritage. Part of that heritage is the Oklahoma State Fair Volunteer Program. Volunteers are critical for the successful operation of the Fair each year. Their faithful service is the backbone of the Fair.

Volunteer opportunities are available for everyone's special skills and preferences. OSF volunteers provide support during the Fair in September and during the move-in days immediately prior to the Fair. Each volunteer shift ranges from 3 to 5 hours depending on the duties and assignments. Volunteers also meet quarterly during the year for social activities, educational opportunities and special training. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age or be assigned to work with a parent or guardian.
