Our students have been vocal about wanting some Math opportunities, so folks interested in, and capable of, teaching a Math course are certainly encouraged to contact us.

Workshops typically run a full semester (~15 weeks), with class meetings once a week, approximately 90 minutes per meeting. There are options to maybe do smaller 8-week terms, should your schedule not be able to accommodate a semester's worth of weekly commitment. We are looking to fill space for Summer offerings as well as organize classes for Fall 2019.

Description

Second Chance is an up and coming nonprofit organization based in Hartford, CT that serves students and families who are justice involved. Currently we run postsecondary level, not for credit, academic opportunities for incarcerated learners inside two facilities in the northern part of the state. Our organization was founded by two people of color, both with advanced degrees, one of whom is an ex-offender. Our goal is to make sure that all educational questions and needs of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated learners can be met through our organization.
