We are looking for someone to fill our September SummerCorps position. This is a GREAT opportunity for anyone looking to make a difference in the Cleveland area by helping to provide home repairs and modifications to low-income homeowners who are elderly or have a disability through our Safe at Home/Handyman Program. No prior home repair experience necessary!

General duties and responsibilities include:

  • Ordering materials
  • Pulling tools and materials for projects
  • Transporting tools and materials to the project site
  • Helping to supervise volunteers
  • Assisting our Project Coordinators in completing projects

This position is an AmeriCorps position, and therefore offers a living stipend of $1,250.00 for the entire term. Additionally, upon successful completion of the 2 month term, you are eligible to receive an education award of $1,230.69 which can be used for qualifying past and future education expenses (i.e., student loans).

In order to be eligible you must:
  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Be over the age of 18
  • Be a US citizen, US national, or a lawful permanent resident
  • Have no pending criminal offenses or felony convictions

Description

Rebuilding Together Northeast Ohio is a local nonprofit that provides accessibility and safety repairs for low-income, elderly, disabled and veteran homeowners. We do not construct new homes, but work with existing housing bringing volunteers from all walks of life together to help eligible recipients remain warm, safe, and dry in their homes.

We are part of a national organization with more than 165 affiliates across the United States, making us the largest home repair and renovation program in the country. To date, more than 3,000 homeowners have been served in our regional service area.
