Hospice Volunteers Make a Difference!
Destiny Hospice Care
Volunteers are needed in your area to visit our patients in their own homes offering them companionship and to give caregivers that much needed break for a few hours a week from caregiving. Volunteers give NO hands on care but are a presence in the home to be sure the patient is safe while the caregiver is away. Sometimes patient's live alone and a Volunteer is essential to the patients' well being! Volunteers are given 20 hours of training and never go alone to their patients for the first time. They may read to a patient, watch t.v. with them so just sit and talk as patient's does a life review. It is an excellent way to make a difference in someones life!

Our caring and compassionate staff will respect your life, values and help you find "hope in your heart" as you leave your loved ones for your peaceful journey home.
Hospice is a type of end of life care that gives 'palliative' care to patients which brings comfort and hope to the patient and their family. By easing or entirely removing physical, mental and spiritual anguish, patient's are able to focus on living and enjoying their loved ones in their final days. Hospice care is given in a patient's own home be it a private home or any type of live-in facility.
Volunteers are a part of that by being a helpful presence to the patient and their caregivers. Volunteers give NO physical hands-on care but they can help in a multiple of other ways.
Though office hours are from 8:30 to 5:30 pm. Monday through Friday, a skilled nurse answers every after hours call and are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for patient visits as needed.
