Job title: Production Intern
Reports to: Production Coordinator
Status: Intern - part time, variable dependent on event schedule
Job Summary: The Production Intern assists the Production Coordinator with the technical and production needs for orchestra events including Mainstage and Family concerts, school day performances, and off-site events such as run-outs or side-by-sides.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- In conjunction with the Production Coordinator, ensure the safety and comfort of the performers and audience as it relates to stage activity.
- Assist in the management of stage operations for all orchestra performances, ensuring that concerts start on time and run smoothly.
- Create stage plots to ensure the stage set-up is functional for the performers and visually attractive.
- Assist with logistics necessary for rehearsals and performances, pre-concert lectures, auditions and related events.
- Work with IATSE stage hands to ensure proper set-up and tear down of each performance and coordinate their activities.
- Assist in the creation of the production schedule for each performance, including details such as delivery or pick-up times, important contact information, stagehand and musician call times, and programming details.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Well organized and detail oriented
- Knowledge of Google suite including Google Docs and Sheets
- Knowledge of classical music a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Valid drivers’ license and access to a vehicle a plus
