Volunteer Shift: 4:30-9:15 pm (includes set-up & break-down)
Location: Murphy's Bar & Grill - 2 Merchant Street in Honolulu
Hawaii Literacy's only annual fundraiser is looking for some terrific, friendly volunteers to join us! Event volunteers can help with setting up the event space when the street is closed, working at the prize drawing sales station, VIP sponsor table service, monitoring the parking lot, helping with guest check-in, and also breaking down the event when it wraps up at 9pm.
Volunteers will be trained beforehand.
Volunteers receive free parking, dinner, soft drinks, and access to the artisan dessert table! Volunteers are essential to the success of this event, which raises funds for our 5 free literacy programs that serve more than 3,000 local adults and keiki each year.
Requirements
- be friendly, patient, and willing to jump in where needed
- must be comfortable lifting 20 lbs, working outside, and being on your feet for an extended period of time
- must be able to attend a pre-event orientation/mini-training (dates/times will be scheduled based on volunteer availability -- we'll do everything possible to make it convenient for you)
- reliability
- age 18+
If you are interested in helping out, please contact us through this post or at volunteer@hawaiiliteracy.org. We'd love to meet you!
