Through a collaborative effort, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley (RMHC) has partnered with Valley Children's Hospital to establish the Happy Wheel Hospitality Cart! The program's core objectives are to provide a moment of relief and comfort to families at Valley Children's, raise awareness about RMHC among families & hospital staff, and promote the RMHC Day Room Program.
The Happy Wheels Cart will primarily serve patients, siblings, and parents with various snacks, beverages, hygiene items and toys/activities.
We are looking for outgoing friendly volunteers who are available every other Tuesday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Volunteers are required to complete the onboarding process and Volunteer Applications for both RMHC & Valley Children's Hospital. This onboarding process can take as long as six to eight weeks. We require a commitment of at least six months for this volunteer position.

Our House is filled with more than help, it's filled with hope.
Many families travel far from home and spend several weeks or months to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children - a long time to be away or to divide a family. And, for children facing a serious medical crisis, nothing seems scarier than not having mom and dad close by for love and support.
Located adjacent to Valley Children’s Hospital, our 22,000 sq. ft. House is a refuge for families with children receiving treatment.
Each night 18 families call our House, their Home. Our House was built with the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child-not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest. We believe that when a child is hospitalized, the love and support of family is as powerful as the strongest medicine prescribed.
There are several ways to volunteer at RMHCCV. We are always in need of front desk volunteers, Happy Wheels volunteers, House helpers and assistance at our three yearly fundraisers. Please visit our website at rmhccv.org/volunteer/ to learn more about each opportunity.
