Help us capture the magic of Sprouts’ work and our mission of providing inspiring youth cooking classes, as our Photography Intern! You will gain inimitable first-hand experience working within a successful culinary nonprofit, while honing in on your photography skills. Throughout your internship, you will have countless opportunities to meet impressive people in the culinary world including chefs, restaurateurs, and community members, develop your own ideas, and help execute Sprouts’ special mission of getting kids from all backgrounds the opportunity to cook and eat healthy, balanced meals!

Your role:

This internship will allow you to witness and capture the inspiring work Sprouts does. You will be snapping photos at our youth cooking classes and other events with the purpose of capturing the fun and meaningful experience. In this internship you will help us convey, through photos, Sprouts’ mission to get kids cooking and empower them to make better decisions for their health. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to be involved in a program that is really making a difference in our community.

Your professional growth:

This position will provide valuable experience working with a successful nonprofit, and further develop your photography portfolio. As a small nonprofit with little hierarchy, your voice will be heard and your opinion will be sought after!

Sample Tasks:

• Attending and taking on-site photos of the programs we offer (i.e. after school classes, in-restuarant classes, Chief in Training Program, birthday parties, etc.)
• Editing photos
• Communicating with the team and sending photo files
• Organizing the photos for easy viewing in our database

Your team:

As the Photography Intern you will be working with our growing team of 12 full and part-time team members, several interns, and over 25 volunteers.

Your office:

We are based at the Impact Hub Oakland, where you’ll have the opportunity to work with Sprouts’ fast-growing and dynamic team. Primarily you will be working on-the-ground at our class sites around San Francisco and the East Bay, and you will have the option to join us in the office or work remotely. The office space is a wealth of interesting people, community-forward individuals and entrepreneurs.

General work hours: Monday through Friday 9 to 5

Office space in Downtown Oakland

**Wednesday and Friday Remote work days**

Skills and Requirements

Strong organizational skills, high aptitude, familiarity and comfort with technology, strong interpersonal skills, interest in community, children, chefs, nutrition, and cooking. Must have reliable access to a computer.

Commitments and Contract Period:

• 10-15 hours/week with flexible availability
• Length of internship is 6 months

Compensation and Benefits:

This position has a $60/month stipend.You will gain valuable experience working with a successful nonprofit, and further develop your photography portfolio, all while serving the community with your contribution to Sprouts.
