Father Woody's Haven of hope

Dear Friends,

Father Woody’s Haven of Hope is a judgment-free day shelter whose mission is to provide various services for the indigent and homeless men, women, and children in the Metro Denver area. Everything we do is met with a common goal: to restore hope and human dignity to the homeless.

I would like to thank you for your interest in volunteering with us. With a small staff and a high number of guests, we heavily rely on volunteers to keep us going. Some of our everyday services include running a clothing bank, serving two hot meals each day, running private showers, laundering clothes, and giving out hygienic items among many other services provided throughout the week. Our main areas of need include helping prepare and serve meals in our kitchen, organize and select clothing in our clothing bank for our guests, some office assistance tasks, and general cleaning and organizing throughout our facility.

Father Woody’s is open to our guests from 7am to 1pm, Monday through Friday, and volunteers are welcome to arrive as early as 7am and stay as late as 2:30pm. All volunteers must be at least 16 years old and have a parent or guardian signature and will fill out an application upon arrival.

Mission Statement

Father Woody’s Haven of Hope is a judgment free day shelter where our mission is to provide food, shelter, clothing, counseling, rehabilitation and hygienic services to the homeless and the indigent in the Denver area. Everything we do is met with a common goal: restoring human dignity and hope to the homeless. With thousands of men, women and children living on the streets in the Denver area, the challenge can seem overwhelming; but we know that together, this tremendous need can be met.

Description

Our facility provides over 850 meals and up to eighty showers per day, five days of the week, while also offering laundry services, AA meetings, 'Fresh Start' couples program, phone and internet access, a clothing bank, over-the-counter medicine, and hygienic items (deodorant, toothpaste, and feminine products). We aspire to expand our services, offering more rehabilitative focus in addition to resume building and job seeking skills to help individuals regain stability.
