VITAS Healthcare is looking for music volunteers who are able to play instruments and/or sing for hospice patients living at home or in long term care facilities. Sometimes what a hospice patient needs most is a way to express feelings without talking. By playing or singing their favorite songs or hymns, VITAS music volunteers help patients and families reconnect with feelings and memories that can bring about a sense of peace and happiness.
VITAS provides training on how to work with people at the end of life. The volunteer provides the talent, compassion and time. Assignments are made according to the volunteer’s time and location. We are very flexible and anytime you are able to contribute is greatly appreciated.
This is a great opportunity for you to give back to the community. By taking a small amount of time out of your busy week you can make the biggest difference in another’s life.
VITAS takes pride in its volunteers, and we welcome you to become part of our team. There are many locations throughout the area you can choose from.
