Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Ronald McDonald House Hubbell Extreme Build. We are scheduled to begin the build on Monday, September 11, 2017 and conclude on Friday, September 22, 2017.
Our trade partners and sub-contractors will be performing the skilled labor, and we have volunteer opportunities in the following areas:
Check-In: assisting the subs and volunteers as they check in to begin their duties. May also help with other duties as needed (site cleanup, runner, etc..)
Food Service: preparing dining area for meal time, serving meal/snacks/beverages, clean up
Safety: directing traffic, deliveries, parking assistance, site monitoring, etc... **NOTE: ADULTS ONLY
Shuttle Service: shuttling volunteers from a parking area to the site, misc. shuttling **NOTE: MUST HAVE VALID DRIVERS LICENSE
All volunteers must report to the check-in tent located at the build site at 1441 Pleasant Street, Des Moines, IA 50314. Parking instructions will be emailed to you closer to the event date.
Construction will take place around-the-clock, and volunteers will be responsible for working four (4) hour shifts. The shifts are as follows:
6:00 am to 10:00 am
10:00 am to 2:00 pm
2:00 pm to 6:00 pm
6:00 pm to 10:00 pm
10:00 pm to 2:00 am
2:00 am to 6:00 am
Because of the nature of the project/build:
ALL volunteers must be 18 years of age; if you are not 18 years old, you MUST be accompanied by an adult during your assigned shift.

Helping a sick child fight their illness takes a big enough emotional toll on a family. Adding a financial strain can make it all almost too much to bear. RMHC can help address those problems, whether they involve housing that’s near a hospitalized child, the expense of staying together in another city, or even getting basic medical and dental care in a vulnerable community. In 2015, RMHC has local Chapters in 60 countries and regions with:

- 50 Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles
- Grants to non-profit organizations that also focus on the needs of children
