Summary:
The Community Outreach Representative serve as representatives of LLS to educate the public about LLS’s mission. Specifically, this position will be working with our Student Series program to perform assemblies at schools throughout the year and speak about the Pennies for Patients program. You should be comfortable working with students ranging from kindergarten to high school and engaging with school staff. You should also be comfortable sharing information about cancer in various settings and helping volunteers to get their students excited about service learning. Travel will be within San Diego County only, with the option to have mileage reimbursed.
Reports to: Campaign Manager
Responsibilities:
- Work with LLS staff to coordinate assemblies
- Perform assemblies and engage students
- Self-transportation to and from school sites
Qualifications:
- Experience public speaking
- Comfortable working with children and in school settings
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Ability to lift 10-25 lbs.
- Ability to move around and be expressive during assemblies
