Take the Oath

Become a 'Made Man’ (or woman!) of the Mob Museum as a Greeter and join 'This Thing of Ours’.

The Greeter position provides a welcoming and lasting impression of The Mob Museum to our annual 370,000+ visitors. In this role, individuals will be assigned to areas in which they will be personally welcoming and interacting with guests. Regular work locations include (but are not limited to): front entrance, lobby, and Museum floors. Throughout each floor you will find pieces of history you may have heard about, including the historic courtroom that once held the Kefauver hearings and bricks retrieved from the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre in 1929. The Museum basement also features a distillery that produces moonshine and contains countless artifacts from the Prohibition era.

You will receive complimentary access to the museum, passes for your friends and family, receive training on the history of the building and content of the Museum, discounts at our gift shop and The Underground, as well as be eligible for our incredible volunteer recognition program and volunteer perks!

Volunteering at our Museum gives you the opportunity to learn more about the history of organized crime, to meet and befriend people with similar interests and to serve a premier educational institution. You’ll join a team that’s working to redefine this city, and you’ll have a great time doing it.

Mob Museum volunteers are a diverse group who come from every walk of life: high school students (16 and up) college students, people with full or part-time jobs, partners, spouse teams, and retirees to name a few. We offer flexible scheduling to all our volunteers. Whether you choose to work a few days a week or a few days a month, we will work around your schedule!

Fill out our online volunteer application and 'bada-bing’ the process is started! You can find the application at: https://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/ap?AP=1022793827

For questions or assistance, please contact our Volunteer & Community Partnerships Manager at jmurdock@themobmuseum.org.

Due to COVID-19, all public facing positions will require volunteers to adhere to Museum guidelines and wear a museum provided mask at all times.

Mission Statement

To advance the public understanding of organized crime's history and impact on American society.

Description

The Mob Museum operates as a financially independent and self-sustaining organization that contributes to the growth and vibrancy of downtown Las Vegas. We provide accurate storytelling that portrays the roots and evolution of organized crime in America, in an authentic and entertaining manner while creating dynamic and interactive experiences that explore the criminal justice system's efforts and innovations in the fight against organized crime. The Mob Museum engages diverse audiences in discourse about social conditions, individual choices and consequences, contemporary issues and other topics that relate to organized crime. We preserve artifacts, objects, and digital records that serve as educational resources, connecting both the academic community and the general public to people and events of historical significance. We also honor the accomplishments of law enforcement by celebrating acts of perseverance and heroism in combating organized crime.
