ORGANIZATION: The Arc of the Capital Area

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 17 people are interested

We invite you to come volunteer with us at The Arc of the Capital Area! We are in need of volunteers to help our clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Clients come to our art studio and learn everything from painting to photography and sell their work at local art shows. NO ARTISTIC TALENT REQUIRED TO VOLUNTEER.

Volunteers will help us provide fulfilling and artistic lives for our clients by:

  • Socializing
  • Assisting with materials and supplies
  • Encouraging creative expression
  • Fostering a fun and inclusive atmosphere

Our Monday classes are focused on digital media arts, Tuesdays focus on performing arts as well as light yoga, while our Wednesday through Friday classes are focused on more classic visual arts, such as painting and drawing.

We ask that volunteers commit to at least 1 shift per week for a 3 month period. The art studio is open Monday- Friday from 9:00-2:00. Volunteers are encouraged to participate 9-11am, 12-2pm or for the entire session 9-2pm. The students break for lunch from 11:30-12, so volunteers are welcome to eat with them if they’d like.

To volunteer with us, please visit www.arcaustin.org/new-volunteer today!
