The Clinic Support II Volunteer will assist in San Marcos Adult Medicine Department’s efforts for FIT (Fecal Immunochemical Testing) screenings.
Through this opportunity the volunteer will gain experience in the clinic by assisting clinical staff in informing patients about the procedure and benefits of FIT testing.
In addition, through this opportunity the volunteer will gain experience in providing culturally sensitive patient service and interpersonal communication skills in the clinical setting.
Description of the tasks to be performed:
- Communicate with Clinical Staff (TBA) about ongoing 'To Call’ or 'To Follow Up’ patient list
- Conduct culturally sensitive outreach and/ or follow up to identified patients via phone or during in person visits for FIT screening progress
- Record pertinent progress notes and communicate to Clinical Staff
- Assist in departmental administrative tasks from FIT screenings

TrueCare, Inc., d.b.a. began in 1971 to serve primarily the rural areas of Ramona, Pauma Valley and San Marcos in North San Diego County, California a region commonly known as "North County". and incorporated as a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. Responding to the need to provide health services to low-income patients continues to underlie the mission of TrueCare "to improve the health status of our diverse communities by providing quality healthcare that is comprehensive, affordable, and culturally sensitive."Since this early inception, TrueCare has grown to eleven health centers to fully cover the gaps in health services throughout the North County and Inland Empire. These centers are located in five cities serving rural, semi-rural, suburban and urban populations in Ramona (1) and San Marcos (2) and coastal cities of Encinitas (1), Carlsbad (1), Oceanside (4, including a dental site) and Perris (1).
