Our volunteers serve as caring friends and companions to our patients by visiting them on a regular basis. You can make a big difference in someone's life just by showing that you care about them.
We also have opportunities for volunteers to help out in nursing homes and assisted living facilities by doing activities such as calling Bingo or serving ice cream.
Being a hospice volunteer is like being a friend to someone in need. The only qualification is your desire to make a difference in the lives of others. You don't need medical skills or a college degree. You don't even need to know what to say! All you need to do is sign up for our hospice volunteer training session. What is Intrepid Hospice Care?
Hospice is a multidisciplinary service for people with a terminal diagnosis that have a prognosis of 6 months or less, if the disease runs its normal course. As experts in pain and symptom management, we bring individualized care that alleviates suffering and extends comfort.
We offer assistance not just to the patient, but to the family as well. Our interdisciplinary team approach provides care and practical support to the patients and families we serve, with our main goal focused on the comfort of the patient and meeting their needs with respect and dignity.
