The CNY Stairclimb is not a race but rather a tribute honoring the sacrifices of fallen heroes

On Friday September 8th Fire Fighters, Police and other Emergency Responders will gather at the State Office Building in Utica, to honor their fallen comrades. They will don their heavy gear and climb 110 stories which is the number of the former World Trade Center. This is a local chapter of a Nationally sanctioned event. Funds will be raised to support family members of 9/11 Heroes. Volunteers will offer help to the climbers by manning water stations and helping to move equipment and with clean up and tear down.

To address the rising issue of hunger in Rome, NY, Mohawk Valley Community College is launching a volunteer project that will help cut back hunger in Rome and provide individuals with a fufilling community work experience.
