The Leadership Training Insitute's Kinship Caregiver Program provides services to relatives who are raising another relative's children throughout Long Island. The children have been removed from their homes for a number of reasons such as abuse, neglect, abandonment and economic reasons. The Kinship Caregiver Program provides respite services to our participating kinship caregivers and the children in their care. LTI is looking for volunteers with a passion for workign with children willing to devote time to the kids in our program to allow for respite care for the caregivers. LTI seeks to Develop leadership skills in children and youth of disadvantaged and minority communities. The agency offers programs in the areas of education, residential care and social development. It directs efforts, energies, and resources toward educational and developmental programming and related research projects for these young people and their families. The Institute also offers programs in areas of Education, Residential Care and Social Development.

Leadership Training Institute (LTI) is a minority led, 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax exempted and membership corporation staffed organization. Based in Hempstead, New York, the Institute has a 40-year history of educational research and operational programs designed to ameliorate the complex problems of disadvantaged children and families.
