Whiskers Animal League needs volunteers to care for our shelter residents!
120 people are interested
Our shelter located in Albany NY is home to approximately 120 cats, all of whom have distinct personalities. We are a no-kill, free roaming shelter. We are in need of volunteers who can give 2-3 hours a week to feed, clean up after and care for our residents. There are two shifts a day, seven days a week. We have a particular need for the morning shifts which start about 8:00AM. No need to look fancy, just brush your teeth and put on some comfy clothes! If you love cats, this is the place for you. We accept couples, parent/child pairings, etc. If you're under the age of 15, you'll need an adult accompany you. If you might be interested, please look at our website: www.eWhiskers.com under the volunteer section. There are two videos that you should view. The first is a "tour" of the shelter. The second shows a few of the chores you'll do on each shift. After you view the videos, and still want to make the commitment, complete an application and a volunteer coordinator will be in touch. Hope to see your application soon!
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.
About WHISKERS INC
PO BOX 11190, ALBANY, NY 12211, US
Our mission is to provide abandoned, abused, and stray animals with a place of comfort, safety, and health and ultimately find them loving, responsible, permanent homes. We specialize in helping animals that have no advocate, those that have been abandoned on the streets or who have been abused. Secondly, we seek to reduce the population of unwanted companion animals by arranging for their spay/neutering prior to their adoption or through our Spay/Neuter & Release program. Finally, we seek to provide information to the public on how to better provide for and enjoy their companion animals.
We are a no-kill cat shelter and sanctuary in Albany, NY. We are in our 35th year of rescuing abandoned and abused cats in the Capital Region.
We'll work with your schedule.
