American Bone Health and Panorama Orthopedics & Spine Center will join forces for a 3-hour Bone Health Fair on all things bone!
AGENDA
9:00am to 09:50am
Doctor of Physical Therapy Carrie Hamm will run a short interactive workshop to give tips on exercises and balance activities to prevent falls.
9:50am -10:20am
Participants will do a group balance assessment by standing on one leg, depending on the length of time they are able to balance, this puts them at a low, moderate, or high risk for falls. Based on their risk level, participants will be spread out to 3 different rooms where they will follow exercise demonstrations outlined in the "Stepping Out Strong Booklet" attached.
10:20am to 11:00am
Registered Dietician Jane Motler will educate you on the best ways to eat to keep your bones healthy and strong.
11:20am to 12:00pm
Keynote speaker Dr. Paul Miller, world renowned bone health expert, will speak on healthy bones and the prevention of osteoporosis and other bone diseases.
We are looking for 6 physical therapist or PT students who will help with our lead Physical Therapists with exercise demonstrations.
Training will be provided.

As a non-profit resource center, we are dedicated to preventing osteoporosis through research and education of the public and medical community to increase awareness of risk, prevention and treatment. Our education programs include lectures which you may discover in the website.
