National Public Lands Day
Saturday, September 30 th , 9am-12pm
Calero County Park
From our neighborhood parks or beaches to our nation’s awe-inspiring national parks, public lands of all sizes and varieties are the places where we live, learn, play, exercise, and relax. In fact, over 30% of America’s land is public land.
Now it’s your turn to give back!
Bring your family, friends, students, or coworkers to spend the day outdoors giving back to your community by pulling invasive species, maintaining trails, picking up trash, and more. Your work will help ensure our public lands continue to be beautiful places for all to enjoy!
We invite you to take this day to enjoy the great outdoors and celebrate the lands that give us so much #NPLD
Volunteers meet the Park Ranger at the Visitor Center at 9 AM.
No special skills are required for this event. Please wear long pants, a long sleeve shirt, and bring a water bottle and sunscreen. Work gloves are provided but you are welcome to wear your own.
Please note: Volunteers under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign a volunteer waiver before they can participate: https://www.sccgov.org/sites/parks/Volunteer/Documents/Volunteer_Application.pdf
You will be able to receive community service hours for this event.
