The Carter Burden Network, a nonprofit leader in aging services in New York City, is looking for a bright, energetic Social Media and Marketing volunteer to join our Volunteer Services team this fall.

The Social Media and Marketing volunteer will assist with CBN’s social media strategy, from routine daily and weekly postings to participating in the conception and execution of campaigns. This is a hands-on position, offering the opportunity to actively improve the way in which CBN communicates its message to the public. The ideal candidate will contribute creatively to new and ongoing projects. This is an unpaid position that is great for someone who is interested in learning the ins and outs of the nonprofit sector while building skills and adding valuable work experience to their resume.

* Occasionally attend events taking place at various CBN locations
* Document senior and volunteer engagement and activities via digital photography
* Create engaging, elevated copy and content for all CBN social media channels: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter
* Build out CBN’s first month-to-month social media calendar
* Document and track social influencer engagement with CBN’s social media
* Research the social media practices of comparable social services non-profits to glean content ideas and best practices

* Undergraduate students welcome
* Fluent in social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and scheduling tools
* Proficient in photography
* Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills
* Strong interest in writing and multimedia
* Detail-oriented (have an eagle eye for typos!)
* Able to review data and pull out key insights
* Collaborative, but must be capable of working independently
* Fluent in Spanish a plus
* Interest in working in the nonprofit sector or aging services a plus

Additional Information
* 15-20 hours a week, 3 days a week (days are flexible). This is not a remote position.
* 2-3 months minimum starting in September/October 2017
* Our office is located East Harlem
