Mission Statement
Casey's Clubhouse (formerly the Miracle League of the South Hills) creates an environment of acceptance for people with disabilities and their families, with baseball as the root, as we promote meaningful, authentic relationships that connect people on the field as well as in the community.
Description
It’s almost funny how simple it can be. An empty lot. A patch of dirt. Some lines of chalk. A community park where dreams and desire take root. A global stage where heroes and legends are born. A classroom where lessons and character are shaped. A field. While they do take on a life of their own, they don’t build themselves. This particular diamond started as the wish of a hometown boy, MLB All-Star Sean Casey, who wanted to give back. To share his love of the game with those who otherwise might only watch from the stands. And as the plays and smiles grew, so did the park where all are welcome. A place that has attracted many. Many who share a passion not only for the game, but for the lessons it imparts. While it may have started as a way of saying thank you, this field has grown into a community, or better yet, a family. And like any family's love, there is room to grow. Here, the impact of each gift can be seen, felt, and even hugged. For at this field, between these lines, miracles happen.
