We are a non-profit residence for independent seniors over the age of 62. We are looking for a board treasurer who has an interest in our mission which is to maintain affordable housing for senior citizens.

The treasurer of The Montclair Inn will oversee the management and reporting of the organization’s finances. The duties of the treasurer are as follows:

• Attend all board meetings
• On a monthly basis update Quickbooks for recent financial activity and prepare the monthly financial reporting package for delivery to the Board
• Maintain knowledge of the organization and personal commitment to its goals and objectives
• Understand financial accounting for nonprofit organizations
• Serve as the chair of the finance committee
• Must have a working knowledge of QuickBooks
• Manage, with the finance committee, the board's review of and action related to the board's financial responsibilities
• Work with the Board Chair and the Executive Director to ensure that appropriate financial reports are made available to the board on a timely basis
• Present the annual budget to the board for approval
• Review the annual audit and answer board members' questions about the audit
• Work with the organization’s accountants to prepare the annual compilation report and tax returns
• Montclair or Essex County volunteers preferred
