Is fundraising for a cause your passion? Do you love to research grants and come up with novel ideas to raise money? If so, please read on!

The Princess Project Los Angeles mission is to create a safe place for teens and their families to come to and find the formal wear desired in an environment that embraces all races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientation, disabilities and body size. To do this, we absolutely rely on the power of the tuxedo and taffeta along with other in kind donations from our many partners and sponsors. However, we cannot run The Princess Project Los Angeles on the power of those donations alone. It costs, on average, $200 to provide a teen a complete prom package and sometimes that doesn’t cover the full cost of their prom ticket(s)! Creating a viable fundraising plan that aligns with The Princess Project Los Angeles’ mission, values and goals is the primary responsibility of this role. You will then work with the Fundraising Chair on the Leadership Board to break the approved strategy down into smaller goals and tasks for their committee to carry out while you move on to determine our next fundraising opportunity. Duties include:

  • Strategy and Planning - Working directly with the Executive Board, you will establish fundraising goals and the strategy needed to meet those goals for the fiscal year and beyond i
  • Metrics - Align fundraising KPIs with finance KPIs working directly with the Strategic Finance Chair to ensure fundraising strategy is planned and allocated accordingly.
  • Management - Document strategy for each fundraiser, process and procedures for the Fundraising Chair and their committee with assistance and approval from the Executive Board.
  • Communication - Provide input on PR materials, draft fundraising solicitations, and assist the Executive Committee in writing thank-you notes to our partners, sponsors, and donors. Provide process, goals and high-level tasks to the Leadership Board Fundraising Chair to communicate out to their committee.

The time committment for this role during these formative years varies per month but averages 10-15 hours a month except during prom season (end of February through beginning of May) where additional time may be requsted to support our public giveaway events. Description

The Princess Project is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit that began in San Francisco in 2002 and expanded into the greater Bay Area, San Diego and now is in Los Angeles.

The Princess Project Los Angeles promotes self-confidence and individual beauty by providing formal wear and accessories to high school teens who cannot otherwise afford them. Our effort is made possible through invaluable volunteer, donor, and community support via donations and financial gifts to further our goals here in the greater Los Angeles area.

By creating a positive, safe environment for teens and their families to come to and find the formal wear desired in an environment that embraces and celebrates all races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientation, disabilities and bodies of all shapes and sizes, our work goes far beyond formal wear to instill a sense of pride and confidence in the thousands of teens that we reach each prom season and to help support special moments in their lives. Our goal is to reach teens at a pivotal moment in their lives and give them an experience that they will forever cherish, as we celebrate with them their passage into adulthood.
